Deeper Life Theme & Speakers

July 21-25 2010

Sometimes Christians think, “OK, I’ve been saved . . . Now what?” Our camp theme this year is, “Let Us Go Further On!” Morning sessions and evening services will include messages on God’s will for our lives, hearing God’s voice, and God’s interaction with the Old Testament patriarchs. Speakers will be Jonathan Anderson, Peter Churness, Dick Klawitter, and Tom Hilpert. Ample time will be given to prayer and singing.

Jonathan Anderson

Jonathan Anderson is a board member, evangelist, and historian for LEM Deeper Life.  While a college student, Jonathan strongly felt God’s call to preach His Word.  As the son of the former LEM Eastern Fellowship director, he also became interested in researching the LEM’s rich revival history.  His desire is to preach the gospel and recount stories of God’s works in the past so that Christians would be revived and have hope to seek the power of God in our land.  Jonathan lives in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, with his wife Abby and their two-year-old daughter Anika.

Peter Churness

Peter Churness is the director of LEM Deeper Life. A 1997 graduate of the American Lutheran Theological Seminary, Peter has a passion for creatively communicating the gospel. In 2003 he founded an award winning company which creates evangelistic video games. He is also the founding pastor of Life Together Church, a cell church in Wright County, MN.  He also assists local congregations in the areas of worship and small group ministries. He lives in Buffalo, Minnesota with his wife Sandy and three kids.

Dick Klawitter

Dick Klawitter is the Founding Director of Wilderness Fellowship, a retreat center established as a place of recreation and refuge for families and individuals of all ages. Dick also has a long history with the LEM. His father was director of LEM Deeper Life throughout much of the 1960's and Dick was LEM's youth director in the late 60's and early 70's during the height of LEM's youth movement. Dick currently serves on the LEM board where he serves as a spiritual father to several of us on the LEM Deeper Life ministry team.

Tom Hilpert

Tom is an LEM Deeper Life board member and the founding pastor of New Joy Fellowship, a Nashville area church plant. After graduating from the American Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1997, Tom gained recognition for planting a ground breaking cell church called River Fellowship in the Twin Cities area.
